Hey there! Another blog post and this one is super important about how to get paid to pin on Pinterest. That too without a blog or any investment. Oh yes, it is absolutely possible.
Blogging is a long-term plan, and I would advise it only for those who love researching keywords and writing content. Blogging takes dedication, and in the interim, you can always start making money by pinning without a single blog post.
As you already know, Pinterest is a powerful search engine (though filled with ads now, sheesh). Nevertheless, it is a goldmine for crafting a secondary income for yourself. The potential is sky-high, but only if you know the right way to do it.
Pinterest has its own incentives, but it doesn’t pay you to pin content. However, all you have to do is play strategically and monetize your time on this platform with these easy methods. That too without writing a single blog post.
Here are the steps.

The Magic of Pins to Profit: How It Works
Affiliate marketing. That’s where this magic happens. When you create a pin, you know there’s a place to put the URL. But here, instead of linking your pins to blog posts, you link them directly to affiliate products. Consequently, when someone clicks your pin and buys the product, you earn a commission.
And Pinterest allows this as long as you follow their rules. You can put affiliate links on your pins and start making hundreds, and if you know how to play this game, then even thousands per month by pinning strategically.
This is a pure and simple way to make money. No need to write blog posts or make podcasts or YouTube videos. Furthermore, you don’t need to have a sales funnel or email marketing. Just pins and smart affiliate links.

What Is Pinterest Affiliate Marketing?
Pinterest affiliate marketing is when you create a pin and link it to an affiliate product. This could be anything from an online course to an Amazon product or a subscription service. You can become an affiliate of any site that offers a program in your niche. No blog needed.
All You Need:
A business Pinterest account
A product or service you genuinely love
An affiliate link to that product or service
An attractive pin that draws eyes and gets clicks
When someone clicks on your pin, they land on the affiliate site, make a purchase, and that’s it. You get paid.
Step-by-Step: How to Start Making Money on Pinterest
If you’ve been reading my previous posts, you’ll know how to set up a professional business account. Now, let’s dive into the affiliate strategy.
Step 1: Set Up Your Business Account
This should be your first move on Pinterest. It’s free and unlocks analytics. Additionally, only by knowing what works for you will you be able to create more similar pins. Moreover, with a business account, you can add affiliate links legally.
Step 2: Choose the Right Affiliate Program
Choose something that works for you and which you’ve already used and love. Programs like Amazon Associates, Awin, and LTK offer affiliate programs. Remember, if your pins are relevant to your audience’s interests, the more clicks you get, which will lead to more commissions.
Popular affiliate programs for Pinterest:
Amazon Associates (products)
ShareASale (diverse products)
Awin (fashion, home, lifestyle)
LTK (fashion and beauty)
Commission Junction (various brands)
Etsy Affiliates (handmade and vintage)
Step 3: Create Pins That People Want to Click
First, go to your Pinterest feed and see what pins are working now. Then, go to Canva or your favorite design tool and make similar pins. Here are the key points to remember:
Pin Design Essentials:
Vertical format: 1000 x 1500 or 1000 x 1920 pixels
Clear, benefit-focused headline
Brand fonts and colors
Keyword-filled description
Visual appeal similar to blog post graphics (even without a blog)

Step 4: Link Directly to Your Affiliate Product
You can link your pin directly to the product using your affiliate link as the pin destination URL. It’s as simple as that. However, to make it legal and ensure you’re following FTC guidelines and Pinterest terms, you must disclose that your link is an affiliate link.
Disclosure requirements:
Add hashtags like #ad, #sponsored, or #affiliate
Mention in the description that it’s an affiliate pin
Be transparent and honest with your audience
Important note: Some people try to cloak or shorten links, which might look cleaner but violates Pinterest policies. Instead, use the raw affiliate link while mentioning it’s an affiliate product. Be honest in your pinning.
Step 5: Track Your Results and Optimize
If you’re making lots of pins, use the Pinterest native scheduler or Tailwind to space them out. Additionally, check analytics every week to see what’s getting saves and clicks and which ones are converting. Once you know which pins resonate with your audience, make more pins like those.
Even today, my one-year-old pins are working far more than my recent ones. Therefore, that’s the good thing about Pinterest: one pin that resonates with your audience can work for you for months or even years.
Tips to Make Your Pins Successful Faster
1. Start With a Niche You Love
Don’t post random stuff or whatever looks cool. Be specific in your pinning. Focus on certain niches that are doing extremely well today like:
Beauty products
Home decor
Office organization
Digital planners
Sustainable fashion
Meal planning
Fitness equipment
Basically, you should have an interest in it and it should be working on Pinterest. There are times when I’ve been interested in a particular niche only to find out the platform doesn’t have many takers. Such niches flop. Find a balance where you can be authentic.
2. Don’t Spam Pinterest
Don’t post 100 pins all at once. Instead, be intentional and space them out. Consistent pinning beats pin dumping every time.
3. SEO Is Everything on Pinterest
As I’ve mentioned earlier, SEO is most important on Pinterest. Therefore, make sure your name, bio, cover picture, pin titles, descriptions, board titles, and alt text all have SEO keywords.
Need Pinterest keywords that actually work?
Stop guessing. I’ll research 30 SEO keywords for your niche – the words/phrases people are searching for on Pinterest right now.
You fill out a quick form (niche, content type, blog posts), I do the research, and you get a keyword list in 7 days. Use them in your pins, titles, and descriptions.
Earning money by being an affiliate is legitimate work. Always disclose your links. Consequently, this helps build trust with your account and audience.
5. Focus on the Right Metrics
On Pinterest analytics, don’t focus on impressions. Instead, focus on outbound links. Even followers no longer matter on Pinterest because it has become a search-based app. Furthermore, you don’t need a huge following to get traffic and sales.
How Much Can You Actually Earn?
It all depends on how much hard work you put in. Generally, new pinners might earn their first sale within a couple of months or so. Moreover, pinning consistently could bring about $300 per month, but you have to put in the hard work.
It all depends on:
How much traffic your pins are bringing in
What products you’re promoting
Your niche profitability
How consistently you pin
Some affiliate marketers make more per month when they treat it like a real business. As I said earlier, Pinterest is a long game and you won’t get rich overnight. However, you can absolutely create a second income with Pinterest just by posting pins with affiliate links.

Affiliate Pinterest vs. Blogging: The Comparison
Affiliate Without Blogging
Pros:
Start immediately with zero investment
No writing required
Simple setup process

Cons:
Income streams only from affiliate commissions

People tend to get bored if income doesn’t grow
Limited control over traffic
Blog + Pinterest Affiliate
Pros:
Diversify income with ads, digital products, and services
Full control over your content
Promote affiliates on your website
Extremely high potential to scale
Build long-term equity
Cons:

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you really get paid to pin on Pinterest without blogging?
Yes. 100%. People are doing it every day. Affiliate marketing on Pinterest is completely legitimate and follows platform rules as long as you disclose your affiliate relationships properly.
If it’s so easy, why doesn’t everyone do this?
Because it requires consistency, strategy, and patience. Most people give up before they see results. Additionally, many don’t understand Pinterest SEO or how to create pins that convert. It takes time to learn what works for your specific niche and audience.
Do I need a certain number of followers to start?
No! Pinterest is a search engine, not a social media platform. Your pins can get clicks and conversions even with zero followers. Focus on SEO and creating valuable pins instead of follower count.
How long before I make my first sale?
Most pinners see their first affiliate sale within 2-3 months of consistent pinning. However, this varies based on your niche, pin quality, and how well you’re targeting keywords.
Can I use multiple affiliate programs at once?
Absolutely! In fact, diversifying your affiliate programs is smart. Just make sure you’re promoting products relevant to your niche and audience.
What’s the best niche for Pinterest affiliate marketing?
Niches that perform well include home decor, fashion, beauty, organization, meal planning, fitness, and DIY projects. However, choose a niche you’re genuinely interested in for long-term success.
Do I need to disclose every single affiliate pin?
Yes. Every pin with an affiliate link must be disclosed according to FTC guidelines and Pinterest policies. Use #affiliate or #ad in your descriptions.
