The quest for the perfect platform
Nothing about my older websites and blogs was making me feel alive. I felt I was starting a new life as an entrepreneur. I certainly needed something more, beyond the social media. A place to call my own and where I can write my own views. Besides, as an entrepreneur, my website is my digital forefront to showcase my brand, connect with my audience and drive conversions. When I set out to build my website, I knew I needed a platform that would not only meet my needs but also allow me to unleash my creativity. I needed to stand out in the crowded online space. Above all, a platform that would reflect the inner ME.
Discovering Showit
It was per chance, while consuming content on Pinterest, a post managed to grab my interest. It led me to the first sight of Showit. A revolutionary website builder that combines drag and drop simplicity with unparalleled design flexibility. I have used Divi and Elementor, and I know that they have a steep learning curve. I needed something that would not be as difficult as them, yet challenging. To be honest, at first, I too was scared if I would be able to use this website builder with ease. From the moment I discovered Showit, I was captivated by its intuitive interface and limitless customization options.
I’ve undoubtedly learned many things about Showit in these few months. But I know there’s still many things that I need to know in order to become a designer. Here are some of the reasons why I ultimately chose Showit as my go-to platform.
Drag-and-drop Design: Showit’s drag and drop interface makes it easy to create stunning custom websites without any coding our technical expertise.
Pixel Perfect Control: With Showit, every element on my website can be precisely positioned and styled to match my unique vision.
Mobile Responsiveness: Showit automatically optimizes my website for mobile devices, ensuring A seamless experience for visitors on smartphones and tablets.
WordPress Integration: If I had a website I needed a blog too, and WordPress is one of the best. Showit Seamlessly integrates with WordPress. This allows me to leverage the power of the world’s most popular blogging platform while maintaining full control over my design. I love that my template looks stunning.
Community Support: This is the biggest factor which managed to sway my decision to go with Showit. The Showit guys are so supportive that they understood all my problems at one go, including how to manage my subscription. At no point did they make me feel that my questions were too stupid to be honest yet.
Also, they have a Facebook group where the Showit community is a vibrant and supportive network of designers, developers, and entrepreneurs. People who are passionate about helping each other succeed. Nothing beats the feeling that comes over when you realize that you are part of kind and encouraging people.

The Cons of Showit
Learning curve: Showit’s drag and drop interface is user friendly. But there is still a learning curve for mastering all its features and capabilities. I went through many videos and articles multiple times before I started building up my website. But I have to say it is not as difficult as Elementor.
Limited E-commerce Functionality: Showit is primarily designed for content-based websites like photographers and makeup artists. So, it’s e-commerce capabilities are pretty limited as compared to a dedicated ecommerce platform. But don’t be mistaken, if you take a tour of my website, you would find a category which says shop. Showit is capable enough to allow integration with Shopify, where I could put all my products on both the websites. For me, it was a win-win situation, and it was exactly what I wanted from my website.
Limited video upload size: one drawback of Showit is its restriction on video upload. While it does allow videos as background, the platform limits the size to 8 MB. This constraint can be a hindrance for those who are looking to incorporate larger video files into their website designs. They will need to use a third party app to embed their videos into this website.
The Biggest Con of Showit
Stteep monthly or annual subscription: This might be a big con for people who have a limited budget because Showit does not come cheap. What you would spend to get 8 years of subscription from Bluehost and Hostinger, you would need to spend to get 1 year of Showit subscription. I needed to save money before I could buy the subscription.
Showit does not charge separately for hosting, but it operates on a subscription-based pricing model. That may not be ideal for budget conscious entrepreneurs. You have to buy your custom domain from Squarespace or GoDaddy. I bought mine from Squarespace since Google domains have been taken over by Squarespace.
Embracing Creative Freedom
Despite these potential drawbacks, I firmly believe that Showit offers unparalleled creative freedom and flexibility for entrepreneurs, who are passionate about crafting a unique online presence. Like Moi. With Showit, I’ve been able to bring my vision to life in ways I never thought possible. From customizing my website’s layout and typography to integrating multimedia elements like video backgrounds and interactive galleries.
